How do we farm our Organic Honey?
- At "The Gueens" we keep bees in wooden boxes called hives, which have removable frames where bees build their honeycombs.
- Worker bees collect nectar from flowers and store it in the honeycombs inside the hive. They flap their wings to evaporate water, turning the nectar into thick honey.
- Once the honey is ready, bees seal each cell with a thin layer of wax, indicating it’s ripe and ready for harvest.
- We then gently calm the bees and remove the frames filled with capped honey.
- The frames are placed in a centrifugal extractor, which spins and pulls the honey out without damaging the combs.
- The raw honey is filtered to remove any wax or debris and then poured into jars for packing.
- As an organic brand, we keep our honey unprocessed and unheated to preserve its natural nutrients and enzymes.
